  • How to onboard newly minted CFP® professionals and Personal Financial Planning degree students
  • How to be open as a business owner and optimize/utilize the skills and passion new planners bring to the profession/your practice?
  • Where do I find the resources to bring on the new planners for my practice?
  • How to be successful while growing a small business and allay fears/risk of the financial and time investment into new staff
  • How to create a strategic Career Path for new hires?  How do I define roles and salaries?

Participants will gather in roundtable groups to work on answering some of these important questions. Leaders will gather shared resources and practical guidelines for attendees, to ensure discussions are both engaging and actionable.  Knowledge and next steps will be shared among participants during the session and online.

  • Which local programs are available and how effective are they at educating and building awareness?
  • As students prepare to select a university and degree program, how can we increase the number of individuals interested in a financial planning route?
  • Let’s create unified resources for CFP®s and Program Directors to use when they speak at their schools/institutions.

Industry Perspective

  • What can big financial firms do help further promote the profession, and how can we engage these organizations?
  • What can individual financial planners do to advocate for their own value as well as for the value of the profession overall?
  • How do we address the large number of industry individuals nearing retirement? How do we ensure that we fill those positions with skilled and trained individuals?
  • Which companies have programs that are trying to answer these questions, and what are a few successful examples?
