Alvin Carlos, CFA, ​CFP® is the co-founder and CEO of District Capital Management in Washington, DC – a financial planning and investment management firm for the everyday people. Alvin hopes to build a multi-generational advisory firm that provides holistic, top-notch, and affordable financial advice to middle-class professionals.

Alvin is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He has a master’s degree in International Relations from SAIS-Johns Hopkins. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Maryland University College. Prior to District Capital, Alvin spent several years working for an international advocacy non-profit in DC. Before that, he served as a teacher at a magnet school in the Philippines. Alvin is the recipient of the 2018 Financial Planning Association Diversity Scholarship.
