Engaging Women

When:  Nov 14, 2019 from 14:00 to 15:00 (ET)
The November 2019 Women & Finance Knowledge Circle will be held on Thursday, November 14th at 12 pm ET.

Knowledge Circle host Eleanor Blayney will be joined by guests Claire Thornton with Carnegie Wealth Management and Jayne Ellegard with Elegant Wealth who will discuss their unique approach to attracting and engaging women clients.

During the call Claire and Jayne hope to share ways that they work to include spouses, partners, and companions who haven't historically been involved in conversations surrounding their financial affairs. When they see their female clients looking uncomfortable, disengaged, or uncertain, how can they help let them know they belong in the room during annual reviews and planning meetings? How can they engage without making anyone feel "put on the spot"?

Claire Thornton graduated from Muhlenberg College in ‘16 with a double major in Finance and English. She worked in operations and as a registered client associate at Merrill Lynch for two years prior to joining her current firm, Carnegie Wealth Management, which is a fee-based RIA based in the suburbs of Philadelphia. During her year & a half at Carnegie, she has earned her CFP® designation and currently works beside two senior advisors, one of which is a CFP® professional herself.

Jayne Ellegard has spent 30+ years in investments and wealth management, including companies such as Cargill, Piper Jaffray and U.S. Bank.  She recently left the corporate world to start her own business to empower women to "show up" and own their financial journey with Courage, Confidence & Wisdom!  She no longer provides advice, planning or product.  Her sole focus is financial education for women.  Over the years, she observed a gap in the financial education women have received.  Her mission is to narrow that gap for as many women as she can.
